Fluctuation in Afghani Exchange Rate is Transient
May 25, 2015- Da Afghanistan Bank held a press conference on the fluctuation in exchange rate of Afghani versus US dollar.
H.E Khan Afzal Hadwal, acting governor and the first deputy of Da Afghanistan Bank while delivering speech at the press conference said that recent Afghani fluctuation versus US dollar is a temporary and transient issue.
H.E Hadawal added that the recent fluctuation in Afghani exchange rate is due to appreciation of dollar exchange rate against many world currencies and domestic demand for dollar over the advent of pilgrimage (Hajj) season, and assured that the situation will soon recover and there is no point to concern about.
H.E Hadawal added that the Central Bank of Afghanistan is fully cautious and has full control over the situation. The Central Bank has necessary policy, plan and means at disposal to restrain oscillation in the Afghani exchange rate. Therefore, H.E Hadawal suggested all nationals, consumers and economic actors to pay no attention to concerns and gossips.
At the same time, Da Afghanistan Bank calls on country's economists and analysts to observe realism in reflecting changes and expressing opinions, and not to go beyond reality and affect public morale.
