H.E President M. Ashraf Ghani Introduced Khalilullah Seddiq as Central Bank Governor through a Glorious Ceremony

H.E Khalilullah Seddiq who attained vote of confidence from parliament (Wolesi Jirga) on 8th July as Governor of the Central Bank was officially introduced by H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani President of Islamic republic of Afghanistan during a glorious ceremony on 13th July 2015.

H.E Khan Afzal Hadawal the First Deputy Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank while welcoming H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani president of Afghanistan expressed gratitude over his support of implementation of the central bank’s duties and obligations.

Later on, H.E President M. Ashraf Ghani while terming the appointment of Khalilullah Seddiq as significant, expressed that under the chairmanship and sound management of H.E Khalilullah Seddiq and in collaboration with the employees, the banking sector will advance towards greater development and excellence, because banks are the backbone of economic development and without having of a functional, reliable and transparent banking sector the economic growth is unconceivable.

Appreciating the performances and overall efforts of Khan Afzal Hadawal during his tenure as Acting Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, H.E President Ashraf Ghani reassured that the national unity government will firmly support the autonomy of Da Afghanistan Bank in accordance with its law and will never allow the financial deficit of the state to be compensated by Da Afghanistan Bank.

H.E Khalillulah Seddiq, Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank while mentioning the marked role of banking sector towards industrial, agricultural sectors and other infrastructural schemes, vowed to move the banking sector into profitability with bringing transparency, good management, devising advantageous and reasonable programs and will do its utmost to make maximum use of banks as a credible source to boost the economic growth.

This event was also attended by finance minister Mr. Eklil Hakimi, the state minister for parliamentary affairs Mr. Ghulam Nabi Farahi, chairmen of commercial banks and senior staff of Da Afghanistan Bank.
